Turkey test fires homemade low altitude HISAR A missile

Turkey successfully test-fired its domestically made HISAR-A missile, and was launched at the low altitude in the central province of Aksaray with the attendance of Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli.

The missile system was developed and produced by Turkey’s leading defense companies Roketsan and Aselsan.

HISAR missiles are developed to aim against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and air-to-ground missiles.

The missile system was initiated in 2011 and is expected to be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces by 2020.

According to the statement, the HISAR-A missile system will play an important role in Turkey's air defense.

Turkey tested its domestic mid-range Hisar-O air defense missiles in 2016.
