Same as Catholics and Protestants, the Orthodox Church has the same New Testament canon of 27 books, but its Old Testament canon is very different. The Orthodox Church follows Christ, the apostles, and the early Church in its understanding of the Old Testament canon and insists that the Old Testament canon contains 49 books in accordance with the Septuagint, 3 books more than the Catholic Old Testament, and 10 books more than that of Protestants. In the commonly recognized 39 books, the Orthodox contents follow the Septuagint and are also different from those of Catholicism and Protestantism. The Orthodox Church disagrees with the Protestant approach, which takes the Bible of Judaism as the Protestant Old Testament.
