On April 19, 1995, a bomb ripped through the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people and changing the lives of thousands more.
Those Changed Forever is a documentary from News 9 that shares the stories of those who lived through that day — and the decades that followed.
Former Oklahoma City Mayor Ron Norick remembers being just blocks away at the mayor’s prayer breakfast that morning. Minutes after returning to his office, he felt the blast.
Amy Downs spent more than six hours trapped beneath the rubble. In those moments, she made a promise to herself that she has kept to this day.
Ronnie Fields lost his mother, Carroll, in the bombing. He says the hope and kindness shown to his family helped him move forward.
Donna Weaver McGinty and her two sons had to adjust to life after losing her husband, Mike. She says the love and laughter he left behind helped carry them on.
This special honors the lives lost, the survivors, and the first responders whose lives were forever changed.
