Why do we resist new ideas? This talk examines the psychological processes behind rigid thinking and how they hinder growth. By understanding and recognizing these patterns, we can open our minds to new ideas and enhance communication and progress. Meet Ara, a globally-minded student from Korea who has lived in Canada, China, and now Thailand. At TEDxUCIS Youth, she will explore The Inflexibility of the Human Mind, delving into why people resist new ideas and how this impacts communication and growth.
Inspired by personal experiences, Ara developed this idea after facing rejection when sharing her thoughts. Determined to understand why, she conducted research and wrote about the underlying psychological patterns that make human thinking rigid. She is also excited to share her insights with others. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
