In Kyoto, I witnessed a traditional Noh play about a Japanese maiden, her beautiful dance, and her soul's transformation. @hiroyuki_matsuno_takibinoh
It was then that I found a story worthy of showcasing both the ancient tradition of folding and the modern pursuit to push the boundaries of the folded universe.
Wait for the dusk while making a bonfire and watch Noh.
Enjoy a luxurious moment as time passes quietly...
In the Japanese tale "The Legend of Hagoromo," a fisherman named Haku-ryo finds a shimmering feathered robe belonging to a celestial maiden. When the maiden appears and begs for its return, Haku-ryo's heart softens and he returns the robe out of kindness, not for a performance. Grateful for his compassion, the maiden performs a breathtaking dance of gratitude before ascending back to the heavens, leaving Haku-ryo a transformed man. This version of the Swan Maiden motif, found in Japanese folklore, stands out for its emphasis on human compassion and divine gratitude.
