VW Mk1/Mk2/Mk3 Timing Belt Replacement

Cambelt replacement tutorial. Also works for Citi golf.

Tools/Parts Required:
Timing belt 056109119A https://amzn.to/3v7Ue7J
Tensioner 026109243L https://amzn.to/3v8P4bG

Torque specs:
Timing belt tensioner: 45nm or 33ft-lbs
Belt cover 13mm bolt: 30nm or 22ft-lbs
Belt cover 10mm or 5mm hex bolts: 10nm or 7ft-lbs
Crank and water pump pulley 6mm hex bolts: 20nm or 15ft-lbs
AC compressor tensioning bracket bolts: 35nm or 26ft-lbs
AC compressor mounting bolts 8mm hex: 45nm or 22ft-lbs
Alternator mounting and tensioning bolts: 35nm or 26ft-lbs
Main wire to alternator: 16nm or 12ft-lbs
Smaller wires on alternator: 3nm or 27in-lbs
