2008 - 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Commercials Compilations (Part 2)

The Mitsubishi Lancer was officially revealed in January 2007 at the North American International Auto Show and went on sale in North American markets in March 2007 as a 2008 model. The all-new Lancer for 2008 delivers thrilling dynamics, "class-up" value, advanced safety and cutting-edge user-technology in an aggressively styled package. The new Lancer has a longer wheelbase and wider track, but slightly shorter overall length than the previous model. The Lancer was initially available in DE, ES, and GTS trim levels, all Lancer models are powered by a 2.0-liter 152 hp (detuned to 143 hp for CA models) aluminum DOHC MIVEC 4-cylinder engine, teamed to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Lancer offered an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the GTS model exclusively features a 6-step Sportronic mode using magnesium steering wheel paddle shifters. For 2009, the Lancer GTS receives a more powerful 2.4-liter engine with 168 hp. In addition, the Lancer Ralliart joins the lineup below the Evolution, which it also shares its engine with though in detuned form. The Ralliart receives the dual-clutch transmission and a less sophisticated all-wheel-drive.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback makes its debut for 2010 as essentially a hatchback version of the Lancer offered in only the two upper trims—the sporty GTS and the rapid Ralliart. The Lancer Sportback GTS has an appealing mix of performance and value thanks to a smooth and energetic 2.4-liter engine, a sport-tuned suspension and welcome standard features such as Bluetooth and automatic climate control. The Lancer Sportback Ralliart takes it to the next level with 237 turbocharged hp, a dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive and an even more aggressively tuned suspension.

For 2012, A new trim level called SE was added. It features the 2.4-liter engine, paired with a CVT transmission, and all-wheel-drive control system. For 2013, the new trim GT was added, based on the all-wheel-drive SE but excluding an all-wheel control system. The GT features sportier suspension, upmarket options, and an available manual transmission.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer receives a subtle visual update and some new features. Unfortunately for enthusiasts, the turbocharged Ralliart trim has been canceled, following the demise of the high-performance Lancer Evolution. The Lancer's exterior scores a new front fascia with a smoother, more cohesive look, as well as new LED running and fog lights. The 16 and 18-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned, and GT models have a new chrome beltline accent. Moving inside, the car's seats have new fabrics, and a reshaped center console new features a USB port.

Although the Ralliart was gone, the Lancer are have two remaining engine choices, a 2.0-liter with 148 hp was relegated to the base ES model, and a 2.4-liter with 168 hp that is optional on the ES and standard on all other trim levels. The car's CVT is new and is said to provide better fuel-efficiency and improved acceleration. There are also two new trim levels available with the Lancer's all-wheel-drive system, the ES AWC and SEL AWC.

Mitsubishi Motors North America’s executive vice president and CEO, Don Swearingen, has confirmed that the Japanese manufacturer would end the Lancer's production in August 2017. So the brand's main focus was to be on crossovers and SUVs, although they would not be discontinuing the Mirages due to ongoing popular demand in the market.
