The end of WW II brought the hope the health care system would thrive with a nursing workforce that had responded so well to the challenges of war. However, recovery from the war was not so smooth and promising in the eyes of many health care leaders as they confronted a severe nursing shortage. This video highlights the recommendations of these health care leaders and how Director Katharine Densford and the faculty including Ione Slough, Marjorie Low, Eugenia Taylor modified the curriculum and assumed roles in American Nurses Association and International Council of Nurses to address the challenges.
