Punjab & Haryana High Court grants bail to the owners of Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant. Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi grants bail to Rajanbir Singh Waraich, Dr. Gurjit Kaur and Dr. Manjot Singh, Justice Bedi also directs Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of officers outside Amritsar Commissionerate, The SIT would submit the report on the FIRs registered against the Owners of the Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant to the High Court on or before September 18, The High Court also directs Punjab DGP to involve the owners of the Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant during the course of the probe, Rajanbir Singh Waraich & his brother Dr. Manjot Singh allege that ADGP Naunihal Singh and his police team is after the family only to settle perosoanl scores and the family has done no wrong, The family alleges that the FIRs registered against the family were completely illegal and out of sheer vendetta, The Family has been on the run fearing wrath of the Amrtisar police for the last 47 days, So fat the family has lost business to the tune of nearly Rs. 80 lakh and they had to pay nearly Rs. 16 Lakh as legal fees to contest its case in the different courts, The entire brass of the Amritsar Commissionerate including ADGP Naunihal Singh, DCP Prabhjot Singh Virk, ACP Kanwalpreet Singh Mand, ACP Varinder Singh Khosa and Inspector Amanjot Kaur were after the owners of the Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant for violating sections of the Punjab Excise Act which are otherwise bailable offences, Punjab Excise department has written several times to the Amritsar police that the owners of the Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant have done nothing wrong hence police must not implicate them in false cases, Amritsar Commissionerate has written five times to the Excise department to cancel the license of the Hoppers' Bar & Restaurant, Hoppers' contemplates opening its business in a week's time, Demand for strict action against the police officers' misadventure against the owners of the Bar & Restaurant.
