A day trip to Donner Lake

Patti and I and a friend took a day trip to Donner lake. It was a bit hazy because of the Dixie Fire, but we had to get outdoors. It wasn't horrible. If traveling in California, you really need to check the smoke forecast.

Donner Lake is located in the Sierra Nevada in Nevada County, 20 miles or so from Lake Tahoe.

Donner Memorial State Park inside the Donner Lake area is a beautiful place to go just for the day. There are a number of picnic spots and many areas where you can set up your day camp for the day and have a picnic.

There is a lot to see at Donner Lake, but in this video we share the adventures of our day trip and not so much the touristy stuff, yet, we explain some of those things to see in the video.
