CSX S951 Loaded DODX Train Into Woodbourne From The Fairless Branch

CSX S951-13 comes into to Woodbourne Yard from the Fairless Branch.

Seeing road units on the Fairless Branch is pretty cool but seeing a loaded military train is phenomenal not to mention rare.

I knew something was going on when I spotted two CSXT 752 & 3073 being brought into Morrisville Yard from Woodbourne on CSAO MO-25 a few nights earlier.

It turns out they were there for what everybody expected. A military train was being built and soon would be moving west, or east to its destination.

This is one of those right place, right time catches. I had no idea this was going to happen. I saw a bunch of chatter about it and thought I missed it and it went out the night before.

Turned out they parked it on the Fairless Branch in full view off Woodbourne Road. So judging by the fresh footprints in the mud, it was no secret that the train was here.

The crew arrived a few minutes after I did. I wished them a good morning and safe trip. I asked which direction that they were eventually going to take the train. The answer was east.

But first the train would be going west through Woodbourne Yard to CP BERRY, where they would run the power around the train to take it back east. A very unusual move.

I caught up to it again about an hour later east of Woodbourne. I'll post that one on it's own, this one is long enough. It's a good chance to see the equipment up close and slow. Something you can't always do at track speed.

The vehicles are from the New Jersey Army National Guard’s 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and are headed for Fort Polk in Louisiana for training.

Just a note on this video. The conductor gave the symbol as “S591-14” when he gave the run down to CSX NI.

I recorded it and wrote that in my notes. Turns out the accurate symbol is S951-13. I decided to upload this video again with the corrected symbol. So if you saw this in your feed twice that’s the reason. This one was just too rare to get wrong.
