Building The Longest Bridge In the World - Canakkale Bridge 1915 | Liebherr

Our company had an opportunity to participate in the construction work of the longest suspension bridge in the world, which connects Asia and Europe: the 1915 Canakkale Bridge in Turkey.

With a total length of 4.608 m, 2.023 m from pilon to pilon and a height of 318 m it's a construction of superlatives. Extreme weather conditions, regional forces and maritime traffic were further challenges.

Liebherr Tower Cranes has developed an optimal solution with two 357 HC-L Cranes, which were positioned on top of the pilons.

We had to find an earthquake proved tower crane configuration, which was successfully accomplished by our tower cranes solutions department.
