📘 JEE Mains One-Shot: Application of Derivatives (AOD) | 5–10 MUST-SOLVE Questions
In this video, I solve the most important JEE Mains level questions from the chapter Application of Derivatives (AOD) — all taken from actual exam patterns.
If you master these 5–10 problems, you can easily score FULL MARKS in this chapter!

27:54 How to Practice and Ask Doubts
Q1 — Basic AOD Concepts
A collection of starter problems covering all fundamental concepts of the Application of Derivatives—slopes, tangents, monotonicity, maxima–minima basics.
Q2 — Maxima–Minima of a Non-Differentiable Function
Find the maxima/minima of a function that is not differentiable at certain points.
Tests left-hand and right-hand derivatives + corner points.
Q3 — Number of Solutions of an Exponential Equation
Find the number of real solutions of the equation:
2^x + 3^x + 4^x = 5^x.
Q4 — Distinct Real Roots Using Double Derivative
Use the second derivative test to find the number of distinct real roots of:
x^4 - 4x^3 + 12x^2 + x - 1 = 0.
Q5 — Double Derivative Application (Advanced)
Another problem where the behavior of the second derivative is used to identify nature of roots or extrema. (You can describe the specific Q shown in your video.)
Q6 — One-One & Onto Functions
Determine whether certain functions are injective or surjective, using monotonicity derived from derivatives.
Q7 — Optimization Problems
Classic AOD optimization question — maximize/minimize a quantity based on constraints.
Q8 — Rate Measure / Rate of Change
Problems involving the rate at which one quantity changes with respect to another — typical physics-style calculus application.
