The Eocene Era

The Eocene Epoch is a geological time period that lasted from 56 to 33.9 million years ago. During this time, the Earth underwent significant global changes, which included the emergence of the first primates, ancient horses and elephants, and the first modern plants. The climate of the Eocene was much warmer than today, with temperatures up to 10°C higher than current temperatures. This allowed for the spread of tropical and subtropical flora and fauna across the globe. The continents were much closer together than they are today, allowing for the dispersal of species over land and sea.
