【推動普及五人制棒球 全城融入體育競賽氛圍】

香港首次主辦的WBSC五人制棒球世界盃早前於中環海濱活動空間順利舉行，吸引來自世界各地的頂尖勁旅參賽，見証香港體育發展踏入新里程碑。香港賽馬會一直致力在社區推動運動普及文化，除了聯同中國香港棒球總會合辦「賽馬會五人制棒球社區計劃」一系列活動，讓學生、基層人士和社會大眾加深認識這項新興運動外，更於賽事期間讓大眾置身於世界級熱身場地上進行簡單而隆重的快閃五人棒球賽，共同感受世界級運動員於場上之熱血氣氛及國際體壇盛事所帶來的歡樂和刺激體驗。

五人制棒球 Baseball5是由世界棒壘球總會改良並推行的一種新興棒球項目並已納入多項國際賽事，更成為2026年青年奧運會的競賽項目。有別於傳統棒球，五人制棒球不論在室內或室外，只需要1.5個籃球場（約21米ｘ21米）大小的場地、一顆天然橡膠製空心軟膠球即可舉行。比賽期間不需使用手套和球棒，場上亦不設投手，擊球員只須徒手把球擊出便可，相當安全，而賽制亦允許男女混合作賽。

[Embracing the Competitive Spirit of Sports through Baseball5]

The WBSC Baseball5 World Cup took place in Hong Kong most recently at the Central Harbourfront Event Space, marking a significant milestone in the city's sports landscape. This event attracted elite teams from around the world, showcasing the vibrant atmosphere of international competition.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been at the forefront of fostering a sports culture within the community. In partnership with The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China, the Jockey Club launched the "Jockey Club Baseball5 Community Programme", aimed at increasing awareness of this dynamic sport among students, underprivileged groups, and the wider community.

Baseball5, developed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation, is gaining popularity and will feature in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games. The sport also promotes inclusivity by allowing mixed-gender teams. This event celebrated not only the competitive spirit but also Baseball5’s potential to engage diverse communities and inspire future generations of athletes.
