US President Donald Trump has officially launched and presided over the signing of the charter for a new international body known as the "Board of Peace" at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Speaking during his address and at the signing ceremony, Trump said the Board of Peace was initially conceived as part of his administration's Gaza ceasefire and reconstruction framework, but has since expanded into a broader global mechanism for peace and conflict resolution.
The US President argued that existing international institutions have failed to effectively prevent or resolve major global conflicts, describing the new body as a results-driven alternative focused on action, accountability and leadership, rather than what he called prolonged and ineffective diplomacy.
