Industry One: Tagu Jams Live Recording Session

Mandalay’s rising rock band Industry One (@IndustryOneMyanmar) bring raw energy and tight musicianship to their Tagu Jams debut, reimagining some of their best-loved singles. Even after a year marked by the city’s historic earthquake, they’ve returned stronger, ready to prove their place in Myanmar’s music scene.

Industry One may be a relatively new name in Myanmar’s rock scene, but their music already carries the weight of experience. Formed in 2022 in Mandalay’s Industrial Zone (1), the inspiration for their name, the band quickly developed a sound that mixes youthful energy with a tight, seasoned feel.
The group began with lead guitarist Ko Tin Aung, bassist Ko Ba Gyi, and drummer Austin. In 2023, guitarist and manager Ko Arkar joined, followed soon after by vocalist Tyler. All five members were already active in Mandalay’s music and arts scene, and once they started working together, songwriting came naturally.

Since their debut, Industry One has released seven singles. For their Tagu Jams appearance, they revisited some of their hit singles, reworking them into fresh arrangements. Some performances lean into grunge and fuzzed-out guitar tones, while others strip back into slower, more melodic rock.

In late March, Mandalay was hit by the historic 7.7-magnitude earthquake that shook much of central Myanmar. It was a disaster that everyone in the city will remember. Industry One were fortunate to avoid serious injuries or losses, but the impact still disrupted their work—damaging equipment, halting studio sessions, and making it harder for members to meet.

After a few months of recovery, the band returned in late July with "Tolerate", a heavier track tapping into metal-core influences. Recently, they performed at JAM IT! 2025 Mandalay and a live show in Yangon alongside indie outfits like Papillons the Band and Square Lake Pirates. The band is also working on new releases and planning to drop a full album next year.

In just a short time, Industry One has built a name that Mandalay’s rock fans recognize. With new music on the horizon, they’re set to keep that momentum going.

There are a total of five songs in this live recording session which was captured last year on July 28, 2024 at our usual humble Tagu office.

Established in 2013, Tagu Films is an independent film production house from Myanmar. For a decade, Tagu Films collaborated with various Myanmar independent musicians to produce music videos and live recording sessions. Tagu Music, established in 2023, is a new step towards producing more Myanmar music contents, such as Tagu Jams, that capture the vibrant local independent music scene.
