The group specializes in large-scale puppetry, often celebrating themes from nature and local waterways.
The Funkrust Brass Band, which accompanied the Green Feather Puppet Parade, is a lively brass ensemble known for its energetic performances blending funk, brass band tradition, and street music. Their vibrant and rhythmic music adds a joyful, festive atmosphere to community events and parades.
At the Lincoln Center Open House 2025, the Green Feather Puppet Parade took place outdoors at Josie Robertson Plaza on Sunday, October 26. This community celebration honored the vibrant life of the Hudson River with large-scale puppets, including a centerpiece puppet of the Atlantic Sturgeon created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The parade was visually enhanced by dancing water flags and upbeat live music from the Funkrust Brass Band. The parade occurred twice during the day at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
