On the night of September 9–10, 2025, about 20 Russian drones crossed into Polish airspace from Belarus, marking the first mass incursion of this kind against a NATO country. Polish air defenses, supported by allied forces, intercepted and neutralized the drones before they reached their targets. Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it an “unprecedented act of aggression” and initiated NATO consultations under Article 4. The incident triggered emergency security measures, international reactions, and debates about the risk of escalation between Russia and NATO.
