Bonsai Use
The cultivar ‘Nana’ (Juniperus procumbens 'Nana') is a classic choice for bonsai:
Handles wiring and pruning well
Has tight, attractive foliage
Develops great deadwood over time
Cold hardy and durable
Care Tips:
Watering: Let dry slightly between watering. Don’t let roots sit in water.
Sun: Needs full sun for compact growth and health.
Pruning: Pinch or cut—not pluck—the growth to maintain shape.
Repotting: Every 2–3 years in bonsai containers
Wiring: Best done in winter or early spring; be mindful of scarring
