Reporter Live: MCL Accused of Ignoring SC Order | Tribals Gherao Collector Office In Sundargarh

Massive protest erupted in Sundargarh district as thousands of displaced tribal villagers gheraoed the District Collector’s office, alleging that MCL is violating Supreme Court directives.
Despite coal mining activities reaching dangerously close to villages in Hemgiri Block—including Gopalpur, Siarmal, Tamulia, Ratnasara, Ratanpur, Khapurikachhar, and others—affected families claim no compensation has been paid. Villagers allege MCL is “bulldozing villages without justice” and warned that their protest will continue indefinitely until compensation is released.
