The French Broad River near Asheville, North Carolina is a destination river for those advanced and aspiring river paddle boarders.
Ledgy rapids and variable levels based on rain fall define the river.
One of the great things about the river is that it's runnable all trhoughout the year, and winter makes a great time to be there.
In this video, paddlers from the Appalacian Whitewater Club run Section 9 on a cold but sunny January day.
