This was my first solo skydive, and the first jump towards the A-License. During the free fall I completely lost awareness of my altitude and you can see that the instructors were giving me instructions to check my altitude, but I was too immersed into the awesomeness of the free fall and "tuned out". As we approached 5,000 feet the instructors were giving me the instruction to pull my parachute but again, I ignored it. As one of the instructors grabbed my hand to try to get me to pull my parachute one last time, I realized that it's time to pull and I deployed my parachute.
9 months later I finished my AFF training and now I am licensed skydiver, with 76 jumps to date.
Skydiving is the most surreal activity I have ever experienced, and if you have ever fantasized about going flying, there is NOTHING better than doing a tandem jump and if you are brave enough, train for you A-license and fly anywhere in the world.
This jump happened on August 8th, 2015 at Skydive Carolina.
