Our journey to Ha Long City was primarily to explore its renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites, Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and Bai Tu Long Bay.
After enjoying a 2D1N cruise to Lan Ha Bay, we opted for a 3D2N voyage to the more secluded Bai Tu Long Bay, choosing Signature Luxury Cruises for this leg of our adventure.
There are fewer cruises operating in Bai Tu Long Bay compared to Halong Bay primarily because the area is less developed and has stricter regulations, limiting the number of boats allowed to cruise there. Bai Tu Long Bay also offers a more secluded and peaceful experience, making it less appealing to large cruise companies focusing on mass tourism.
Aside from being less commercialized and more remote, Bai Tu Long Bay is notably more rugged.
