The Mahalakshmi Ashtakam is one of the most revered hymns dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, and auspiciousness. It was originally composed and recited by Lord Indra (the King of Gods) to seek the Mother's grace.
The prayer consists of eight ("Ashta") verses, each highlighting a different divine quality of the Goddess.
Benefits of Recitation (Phala Sruti)
🪷The final verses of the hymn describe the merits of chanting:
🪷Once a day: Destroys great sins.
🪷Twice a day: Bestows wealth and prosperity.
🪷Three times a day: Destroys powerful enemies (including internal enemies like ego and greed) and brings the constant grace of the Goddess.
How to Chant :-
🙏Chant this on Fridays or during Navratri. Light a lamp (Diya) with ghee and recite with a focused mind.🙏
