In the newest episode of the Builder's Bench, our series of technical transmission repair videos, we're going to look at a two-wheel drive Ford F-150.
Co-host Rino Partipilo of ATSG goes over a story they heard on their helpline recently, where the shifter would not come out of Park. Even when engaging the manual release lever, the drive shaft still would not turn.
The customer and shop both said that even though the transmission was placed into Drive or Reverse, the rear tires would not move, as if they were locked up.
The shop tested it out and pulled manual release lever, but still the transmission was locked up. Next, they removed the drive shaft and were able to push the truck.
