Labelled as #AD (on thumbnail) as I was given a digital Steam game code from Guillotine.
AD notification is mandatory to UK content creators thanks to the ASA ruling.
I am slowly getting into the Arcade mode segment of the game where you do an entire level without story segments such as the ninjutsu tutorial, no fast travel warping to skip backtracking and no Ankou Rifts...thankfully.
Thanks to a valid comment on my previous stage S rank run video, it turns out that it's possible to get an S rank without having to do any Elite battles nor collect every medal in the stage. This is great because I know some of the later precision platforming levels (Secret Base in The Assault stage) are a bit of a nightmare to deal with.
Big disclaimer:
No damage isn't mandatory to get an S rank but if you want to get that No Damage tick, try and equip the shield passive perk because losing your barrier doesn't count as damage and doesn't drop your hit combo counter.
I did notice that restarting a level after losing the barrier doesn't reset the 60 second clock so in my successful run for example, the blue barrier appeared 55 seconds after hitting restart run.
