How to do the kick in breaststroke. The kick in the breaststroke comes right after you pull.The kick helps you to propel your body forward and glide as you are doing the breaststroke. There are a couple of great tips how to make your breaststroke kick to be efficient. The kick begins to bend, open up into letter V, open up your heels, and then circle around with your legs bringing them back to the original position. So bend, open, close with your legs as you are doing the breaststroke kick. Bend, open your heels to gain traction of the water, and bring your kick together to glide forward after your pull. That's how you kick when doing the breaststroke.
