Costa Rica! A Not So Perfect Week in Arenal & Brasilito

Costa Rica! This incredible Central American country is filled with beautiful beaches, lush green rainforests, enchanting nature, amazing wildlife, and fun adventures. We spent 4 night ins Arenal and La Fortuna, and another 3 nights in Brasilto, a small beach town on the Pacific Coast. We had fun hiking, sight seeing, beaching, snorkeling, ziplining, inner tubing, eating, swimming and more.

But if I had to visit Costa Rica again, I would avoid Rainy Season, which goes from May to November. We visited early June, and everyday at around 1 or 2pm, the rain would start, and rarely stop. Each day the rain was strong enough to ruin and cancel plans, so we lost half our day just sitting in our hotel rooms. We could have done so much more!

10. Costa Rica Beaches! Playa Conchal is the best for snorkeling! Playa Flamingo and Playa Brasilito are great for swimming and relaxing. Playa Zapotillal and Playa Minas are big, beautiful and very secluded, but the off road drive is very rough! Only visit with an SUV.

11. Tamarindo, a very popular tourist town, which was way too touristy for us. No local Ticos are eating, shopping, drinking, and hanging out there. All tourists.
