So it was that when Henria
played her lullabies, all the beasts
of the farms and the fields and the
fighting pits would come and listen.
And as the gentle melodies filled
the evening air, so all the children
of the town would leave the
hearth, and call and shout and gather
and run quickly o'er the cobbles to
hear the sweet music that she made.
Yet even as the beasts and the children
stood and watched, so did they enter
into most marvellous strangeness.
For as the twilight hastened, and
Henria's tunes grew sweeter and more
wonderous, so beast and child entwisted
both, and each, and none.
And all became forever changed.
