Plot Summary
Set in the picturesque town of Palampur, Dil Hai Tumhaara is an emotional Bollywood drama that explores the complexities of love, sacrifice, and family bonds. The film centers around Shalu (Preity Zinta), a free-spirited and cheerful young woman who lives with her strict yet loving mother Sarita (Rekha) and her elder sister Nimmi (Mahima Chaudhary).
Unbeknownst to Shalu, she is not Sarita's biological daughter. She is the child of Sarita’s late husband and his mistress — a painful truth Sarita has concealed for years while raising her as her own. Tensions rise when both Shalu and Nimmi fall in love with the same man, Dev (Arjun Rampal), an honest and charming young businessman.
