Many Ultrix owners are suffering premature motor failure NOT crash-related.
A tear-down of one motor showed that they use solid brass or bronze bushings rather than ball-bearings, and said solid bearings look very dry. Some sticking, slower-running or seized motors have been restored back to operating condition simply after being lubricated.
SO, I want to show how to take apart the motor and re-assemble it so that others may service their own before it is too late. If necessary I may also produce one showing the best way to access them, but I need to study various methods first.
I used a medium weight oil that will remain on the bearings longer, but use whatever you can get ahold of. ANY lube is better than none at all, especially at 40 to 50,000+ RPMs (4.2v x 13,500Kv = 56,700 unloaded RPMs).
