Once celebrated as "Sado's gold, Ikuno's silver," the historic Ikuno Mine remains a symbol of Japan's rich mining heritage.

Connecting this storied site with Himeji, the "Gin no Basha-michi" (Silver Carriage Road) is considered Japan's first industrial expressway. Spanning 49 kilometers, it stretches from Shikama Port (now Himeji Port) all the way to Ikuno Mine.
