Why the telephone number on the blue sign that is on all crossings is so important!

THis happened about a month ago. The CN had arrived and was making the shove move into Omaha Track when I started filming. The lights and bells did not go off when the train crossed the circuit and it was clear something was wrong. I filmed a large portion of the drama but also left out alot-so as not to bore you! It was about 30 minutes or so that the road was blocked from traffic moving and everyone seemed to take it well. The MDOT employee got the number from the blue sign and called CN. So the police directed traffic and eventually everything was back to normal-except the next job in L'Anse had the same problem-this time it was a two hour wait for the technician to come from Gladstone. I was not in town so I did not get any footage. This experience shows the importance of the blue sign-call that number when in doubt!!!!!!
