KUNM is a 40+ year Pacifica affiliate based in Albuquerque, now serving half of New Mexico's people. KUNM is based at the University of New Mexico with programming produced by professionals (News) and about 100 community Volunteers from all walks of life. Richard Towne has been General Manager at KUNM for the past 30 years and is soon to retire after 50+ years of professional service to non-commercial radio.
KUNM has a weekly check-in discussion about Safety, Security, Wellness Concerns, Anxiety, Fear, Trauma and related. This is woven into the way we work. We see this as a crucial conversation. At the University level, we are required to submit an annual Emergency Plan.
