A quick-start tutorial video on using Linux Multimedia Studio. We cover programming the Triple Oscillator, programming the Organic synthesizer, creating beats in the beat editor and placing them in the song, sequencing melodies and chords with the Piano Roll, and rudimentary sidechain compression using the Calf Stereo Compressor.
Get the Calf LADSPA plugins from calf.sourceforge.net. They are Free and Open Source Software.
I apologize for the audio latency issues in this video, this is why I usually don't talk. In order to get stereo sound from both LMMS and my voice I had to run my voice into JACK Rack where I ran a preamp on it then both together into another instance of JACK Rack because gtk-recordMyDesktop cannot A) simply record what's going on with system-playback nor B) combine four audio signals into a single stereo signal. So there's a good approx. second and a half of audio latency there, and it doesn't help that I was recording in not-crap definition so both gtk-recordMyDesktop and LMMS were fighting over the CPU with two instances of JACK Rack getting in the way. I need to figure out a better way to do this.
