In this video, I discuss some of the latest challenges I've encountered in both my work and my new project. After spending the last two and a half months focusing on developing a product for AV companies, I've been speaking with project and operations managers to identify where my solution could provide real value. Although progress has been slow, and I have yet to land a customer, I continue refining my approach by focusing on understanding demand.
I also showcase a demo of a chat-based time-tracking tool, which I’m developing to make project management easier for AV companies. My goal is to offer a more intuitive solution that utilizes natural language processing, similar to tools like ChatGPT, for tasks like clocking in and project tracking. While this approach may seem slower than traditional methods, I argue that reducing the learning curve for new software could outweigh that.
Finally, I dive into a real-world scenario where I faced technical challenges setting up a DM7 and QL1 during a show, and how I leveraged AI to troubleshoot when Yamaha support was unavailable. I explore how tools like ChatGPT could assist in these situations by providing quick answers from user manuals, which saved me a lot of time and stress on the job.
If you work at an AV company, I'd love to chat with you! Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]

I love to geek out about the physics of sound. This channel focuses on the growing opportunity for live sound engineers to improve their confidence and consistency through the understanding of the principles of sound system design and optimization. My goal is to make this channel upfront and honest about my success and failure, so you can learn from both.
I am always open to suggestions and feedback so please comment on this video or contact me through my site.
