Testing My USB Cables with a Treedix Tester (What I Learned)

I’m not tech-savvy, but I’m slowly learning as I go.

I’ll show what each light means (in normal-person language), how to tell if a cable is data, charge-only, or just dead, and what I’ve learned along the way.

💡 Quick Cable Tester Cheat Sheet

GND – Ground, the return path for power. Needed for everything to work.
VBUS – Power line (usually 5V). If this doesn’t light, the cable won’t charge.
D+ / D- – Regular data lines. If these lights, your cable can transfer files (USB 2.0 speed).
TX / RX pairs – Fast data lines. If these light, your cable supports USB 3 or USB-C high-speed transfer.
CC1 / CC2 – Smart “handshake” lines. They help USB-C devices agree on how much power to send and who’s charging who.
SBU1 / SBU2 – Extra side channels, sometimes used for video cables. Not all cables use them.

Quick guide:
🔋 VBUS + GND only → Charging only
📁 D+ / D- on → Basic data cable
⚡ TX / RX on → Fast data cable
🤝 CC1 / CC2 on → USB-C communication working
🚫 Missing or random lights → Faulty or poor-quality cable
