Rafael Martinez takes on Nick Varner at the Sands Regency Open XX in Reno, Nevada in December of 1994.
Both of these players were at the top of their games. Varner, known as The Kentucky Colonel, already had two Professional Billiard Tour titles to his credit for the year and would end up winning the top spot on the PBT yearly points list.
Martinez had already won a PBT title in 1994, and was looking for his second.
