Marketed as “Not your parents’ fitness video,” this VHS encouraging healthy eating and exercise was distributed to schools in Missouri via the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health. The celebrity spokesperson and Honorary Chair for the 1994 campaign was St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Ozzie Smith, who appears throughout the tape. After an introduction by Missouri Gov. Mel Carnahan, narration is performed by Jon Hamm, who at the time was a high school drama teacher in St. Louis. Modern viewers will know that Hamm later became a professional actor and rose to fame through his role as Don Draper in Mad Men. Check him out here before he was famous!
