Cedric Burnside, who began drumming for his grandfather R.L. Burnside at age 13, has had a remarkable career. His albums Descendants of Hill Country (2015) and Benton County Relic (2018) were both Grammy-nominated. Burnside has appeared in films such as Tempted (2001), Big Bad Love (2001), and Black Snake Moan (2006), and starred as the title character in Texas Red (2021). He is a National Heritage Fellowship recipient and was honored with the 2024 Mississippi Governor's Art Award for Excellence in Music. Burnside has also collaborated with diverse artists like Jimmy Buffett, Bobby Rush, and Widespread Panic.
