20th December 2022, Rauma shipyard celebrated the steel cutting ceremony of Spirit of Tasmania V, a vessel being built for the Tasmanian TT-Line Company.
The vessel will be finished closely together with its sister vessel set to operate the same sea route.
The ferries are equipped with modern dual fuel engines capable of using liquefied natural gas (LNG). They will hold 1,800 passengers each and their gross tonnage will be approximately 48,000 metric tons.
Construction of the first vessel will be completed at the start of 2024 and the second in late 2024.
