THE WELCOME GARDENS AT YERKES OBSERVITORY Episode

"TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE!"

Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay Wisconsin is the home of the beginning of astrophysics. Purchased a few years ago from the University of Chicago by a group around Geneva Lake with the goal of keeping the architectural and educational integrity of the site. The Welcome Gardens now being planted are the first step in creating a Professional School of Gardening in cooperation with Gateway College. The initial beginning of this process will be understanding and expanding the planting and stewardship of contemporary perennial plantings. We are moving solidly into a plant-driven future!
