In certain cases, we have multiple files we need to bring into Tableau Prep. For a few files simply bringing each one in individually is fine. However, what happens when you have 10, 20, 50 files that you need to upload and union? This is where the manual method no longer works well.

Tableau Prep has a built in function which lets you upload multiple files in a batch. It is known as the Wildcard Union method. Essentially, you can tell Tableau Prep the pattern of the file names to include and one click later it will upload all the files. It really is that simple!
