Replacing a BROKEN door mirror glass - 2009 Mercedes C200 Part 34

I was on my way to Costco when an oncoming Ford Fiesta struck my door mirror. Fortunately, the casing was just knocked off but the glass was shattered. The other driver (we'll call him Francis) caught up with me and we exchanged details. I soon found a genuine used replacement glass on eBay but it turned out that it wouldn't fit. I managed to find the correct one on eBay and it as good as new.
