How to Install Oracle APEX 20.1 | DB 21cXE | Pluggable | Windows 10

Today we are going to Install Oracle APEX 20.1 & ORDS 21.1 with Database [XE] 21c [Pluggable] in Windows 10 InshaAllah.

a. We can download it from
https://www.oracle.com/database/techn...
b. Unzip Oracle Database [XE] 21c, & ORDS 21.1 in a folder where you want to install them
While extracting Database [XE] 21c and ords 21.1 we will create separate folder with name "DB" & "ords" respectively, so all the respected files will extract in respected folders.
c. Copy "apex" folder from "apex_20.1" and paste where we want to install it.
Java version is Java 8 update 211 (java -version)
Remember
Before attempting to install Oracle Database XE 21c, uninstall any existing Oracle Database XE or database with the SID XE from the target system.
The installer will use SID XE for database creation. Any SID other than SID XE will not be allowed.
d. Run database setup with "Administrator" rights.
e. Hit "Next" button.
f. Check on "I accept the terms..." & hit "Next" button.
g. Change Directory while hitting "Change" button & hit "Next" button.
h. Enter Database Password & Confirm Password for "SYS", "SYSTEM", & "PDBADMIN" from your choice, hit "Next" button.
i. Hit "Install" button.
j. Hit "Finish" button.
Pluggable Database name is "XEPDB1" & port is 1521
k. Open command prompt & reach where apex folder is available.
l. Run sqlplus /nolog
m. Connect as sys as sysdba
n. We will find pluggable databse is in "READ WRITE" while running this command
SELECT name, open_mode
FROM v$pdbs;
o. If not in "READ WRITE" mode then we run this command
ALTER PLUGGABLE DATABASE XEPDB1 OPEN;
p. Now run this command
show pdbs; (this command will run before every apex scripts @apexins, @apxchpwd.sql, @apex_rest_config.sql to make sure that we connect with pluggable database or not, if we connect it then run apex scripts, if not then run below command)
ALTER SESSION SET CONTAINER = XEPDB1;
(Make sure "Session altered" appear if not then connect again as sys / as sysdba)
q. Install apex by running this command
@apexins sysaux sysaux temp /i/
r. Run @apxchpwd.sql, username is "ADMIN", email, & password from your choice.
s. Run @apex_rest_config.sql (provide password for APEX_LISTENER, & APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER from your choice)
t. Run @apex_epg_config.sql & add path where apex folder is available.
u. Run @apxldimg.sql & add path where apex folder is available.
v. Open SQL Plus connect with sys / as sysdba & run these commands.
ALTER SESSION SET CONTAINER = XEPDB1;
ALTER USER APEX_PUBLIC_USER IDENTIFIED BY oracle ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
w. Open Command prompt again with "Administrator" rights & reach where ords is available.
x. Run this command java -jar ords.war install advanced.
y. Provide Configuration path & hit "Enter" button. "C:\21cXE_20.2\ords"
z. Enter number for... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
za. Database server is [localhost]: Hit "Enter" button
zb. Enter listen port [1521]: Hit "Enter" button, my port is 1521 your port will be different.
zc. Specify Database SID [1]: provide option "1" and hit "Enter" button, my database service name is "XEPDB1"
zd Enter 1 if you want to verify... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
ze. Enter password & Confirm password for ORDS_PUBLIC_USER
zf. Enter administrator username, password, & Confirm password.
zg. Enter the default... [SYSAUX]: Hit "Enter" button.
zh. Enter the temporary... [TEMP]: Hit "Enter" button.
zi. Enter the default... ORDS_PUBLIC_USER [SYSAUX]: Hit "Enter" button.
zj. Enter the temporary... ORDS_PUBLIC_USER [TEMP]: Hit "Enter" button.
zk. If using Oracle Application Express or migrating from... [1]: Hit "Enter" button
zl. Enter the PL/SQL Gateway... [APEX_PUBLIC_USER]: Hit "Enter" button.
zm. Specify password, & Confirm password for APEX_PUBLIC_USER from your choice.
zn. Enter 1 to specify passwords for Application Express... [1]: Hit "Enter" button & specify password, & Confirm Password for both "APEX_LISTENER" and "APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER" from your choice.
zo. Enter a number to select a feature to enable [1] SQL Developer Web... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zp. Go to apex folder copy "images" folder from "C:\21cXE_20.1\apex" & paste it to "C:\21cXE_20.1\ords"
zq. Enter 1 if you wish to start in standalone mode... [1]: Hit "Enter" button
zr. Enter the APEX static resources...: Provide "image" path "C:\21cXE_20.1\ords\images"
zs. Enter 1 if using HTTP.... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zt. Enter the HTTP Port [8080]: Hit "Enter" button or define from your choice.
zu. Open cmd with administrator rights, reach where ORDS folder is available (C:\21cXE_20.1\ords) & run this command "java -jar ords.war", when "Oracle REST Data Services initialized" appear use Oracle APEX, minimize command prompt not close it.
