B&M Model 20-AR-10 (somewhat of an attack) monthly siren test 5-28-19 Sierra Madre, California

Here is my surprise! Me ,Edaan Friedman ,Dylan Keville (Casablanca panama 101) ,and Ryan Frankel went to this rare gem. This is my first siren test using my new camera ,and my first time hearing a large B&M siren ,as this is the only one known that is still active. This was by far the loudest siren test I have ever been to (The Chrysler being the loudest siren I have ever heard).

My ears were seriously ringing even about an hour after the test. I got a headache from the sound as well. I apologize for the talking while it’s winding down ,one of the guys you hear set it off manually ,as the remote activation from the city hall failed to activate it. It’s likely an old telephone line activation ,so there is no tones to listen to over a scanner. Also a big thanks to the water treatment plant and city workers ,as the area I filmed in was not public ,this siren is on top of a water treatment building which is in the middle of this park and can’t be access without special permission by the city and water treatment workers that work at this small water treatment plant.

This siren has been inactive for years ,but was reactivated on January 29th ,2019 because of the hazardous wild fires near by. This siren was installed likely back in the 40s or 50s ,and was used during the Cold War ,I’m pretty sure this also went inactive around the same time LAs system was decommissioned. But now this siren is mainly used for wildfires and mudslides ,as well as extremely bad weather.
