NOTE FROM THE PRODUCERS: Baha’u’llah is quoted at the 13-minute mark as saying “Religion without science is superstition. Science without religion is materialism.” This is not an exact quote but a summation of an essential Baha’i concept.
For instance, The Universal House of Justice in its March 2, 2013 letter states: "… religion without science soon degenerates in superstition and fanaticism, while science without religion becomes the tool of crude materialism;”
