QANTAS B737-800 QF454 Business Class - Melbourne to Sydney, Several Aircraft Type Changes (4K)

After an interesting trip down the Melbourne the previous day with a flight cancellation , then being a total doofus and catching the wrong bus trying to get to the airport, it was time to go home.

When I originally booked the flight, I specifically picked this service as it was being operated by a wide bodied Airbus A330-200 which was being re-positioned between international flights. Roughly a week prior to the flight I noticed there had been an aircraft change, now the new Airbus A321-XLR was going to operate the flight, and being I have just done a couple of flights on this aircraft in Economy, why not use some points for an upgrade to do something different. 3 days prior to the flight, upgrade confirmed, seat selected... happy days.

Then the evening before the flight (just after arriving in Melbourne from Sydney) another aircraft change, now to one of the old girls, a Boeing B737-800, with my upgrade still locked in.

When Qantas gives you lemons, eat yummy food in the lounge and enjoy the Cheese Plate onboard (slightly disappointing re aircraft changes, but that is part and parcel of flying with any airline, aircraft type, and even preferred seating is never guaranteed).

The flight left early, and arrived very early, crew were friendly and helpful, Afternoon snack was sufficient, overall, a great flight.

Now to get back to some serious flying... (ie medium to long haul international flying).
