The pandemic marks the beginning of a new generation. Gen Z were born between 9/11 and the Pandemic and in the next few years, we will be getting children in our schools with vastly different experiences from those who came before. Current innovators like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are reflective of the times and generational impacts they grew up in. Using sociological, media studies, and marketing lenses, this multi-media presentation explores the differences between the retiring Baby Boomers, the Generation Xers who are moving into, and being overlooked for, leadership positions, the Millennials who are teaching the children, Gen Z who are just finishing school, with implications for the Pandemic Babies. The impact of generational timing for innovation and topics for talent development are explored as well and implications for the future as we begin a new round of generational conflict and change.
